Silver platter - basket, Frolov, 1836. Russia (1) - .875 (84 Zolotniki) silver - Russia

A silver stand with a handle. Made entirely of 84 hallmark silver, the stand in the form of a silver basket with rich decorations. The basket on a rectangular footing, decorated with an ornamental band in the form of the small leaves. Placed on the footing: also rectangular, slightly navicular bowl. Its external walls are decorated with silver applications depicting the garlands with a centrally placed shell and small rosettes. The edge of the bowl is curved and decorated with a band of vine. Moscow, 1836. The marks on the bottom of the bowl: Saint George killing the dragon (the city mark of Moscow) , Silver hallmark: "84", the touchstone mark with a date: "1836: (touchstone of Nikolai Dubrovin, working from 1822-1855) and the goldsmith's mark: "FF" (Orthodox font) (goldsmith: Fiedor Frolov, working from 1815-1838) . The same marks (apart from the touchstone) on the footing and handle. An incredible item, maintained in an excellent condition. At a very attractive price.
