Simone Post - Lounge chair - New Old Chair

This is a so called 'New Old Chair' Simone has been making these for a while in black and white but this is the first unique multicolored version she made. She made a series of them but all are different. they are now exhibited for the first time at Art rotterdam and at Object Rotterdam. Who doesn't recognize the old wooden kitchen chairs? Big chance you have seen them in thrift shops, at your grandparents place or even have them in your own home. They may look outdated but are still comfortable and technically great. Simone Post explored ways of giving these loyal roommates a new lease of life. Why, after all, make a new one when there are already so many chairs? She gives the chairs a new and unique look while accentuating its existing character, with a glimpse of its past still shining through
