Flintlock rifle the Spanish infantry militia - 1789 model: Calibre: 18 mm Barrel length: 105 cm Total length: 133 cm Era: Spain circa 1789-1812 This model of rifle was used during the peninsula wars, during the First Empire. Markings: BARREL marked 202 ‘E X’, ‘D V I’, ‘R’ with crown, ‘C - R 1799’ and ‘N 5435’, LOCK hallmark stamped ‘D V I’, BUTT marked 15-15 40-40. Hallmarked barrel, faceted then round. Militia or Catalan style lock in perfect condition with the manufacturer’s markings. Cut brass fittings, Ibara walnut wood butt (so-called cow's foot) . Beautiful light-coloured wood with a repair under the length (towards the first grenadier) . The iron is in very good condition, no tarnishing, good barrel interior. Mechanism in good condition, complete and functional, very firm springs. The head of the pin on the rod is broken (invisible from the outside) . Please have a look at the pictures.
