Special ink set with silver, 925/000. Ink set on a rectangular contoured black wooden base richly decorated with silver elements, with coat of arms with ribbons, with engraving: "The city of Utrecht on the doctor PIC window shop" and silver carved cartouches on the corners. On the base there are 2 square crystal pots with silver holder and caps and a silver pen. At the center of the base is a profiled silver box with cover, octagonal, decorated with a large angel with laurel wreath, skull, books and an esculape. MT .: JM van Kempen, Utrecht, JL.:Q: 1850. Both inkwells are damaged, otherwise in very good condition. 27x16x24cm. In 1850, 22 ink sets were offered to doctors who had made a living during the cholera epidemic in 1849 in 1850. One copy is located in the Centraal Museum in Utrecht.
