Sport Poster Spartakiad Sport Games USSR Moscow 1956

Original vintage sports poster celebrating the first summer Spartakiad of the Peoples of the USSR, a mass multi-sport festival that took place in Moscow in 1956. The poster features great design of a large red Soviet flag with hammer and sickle blowing in the wind over a spectator filled stadium with people on the football field all dressed in white forming the word ??? / Peace and sportsmen representatives marching with colourful flags along the racing tracks, more flags of other Soviet republics on either side of the image, with text in bold blue below - ?????? ?????????? ???????????! / Greetings to the participants of the Spartakiad! - Spartakiads (1956-1991) took it's name after Roman gladiator Spartacus, with events taking place in Moscow for summer games, and changing between Sverdlovsk, Krasnoyarsk, Gorky, and Kiev for winter games. Fair condition, folds, tears, paper loss in bottom right corner, creasing. Country of issue: Russia, designer: V. Vladimirov, size (cm): 56.5x81.5, year of printing: 1956
