Description: Large seated Buddha in gilded bronze, partially erased, the hands in the dhyāna-mudrā position. With a hand placed above the other, the palms are facing upwards, the fingers are elongated, laying on the legs in the dhyāna-mudrā position. This gesture is characteristic of two meditation periods during the life of Śākyamuni: during his period of extreme fasting, and under the Bodhi tree before his Awakening; this gesture is also attributed to a the Amitābha Buddha, and occasionally, to the Mañjuśrī bodhisattva, as well as to the medicinal Bhaiṣajyaguru Buddha. The Buddha figure is wearing a majestic courtyard dress, ornamented with jewels, as well as a tall winged crown. Dating: Early 20th century - Around 1920. Condition: Good overall condition, the gilding is quite erased, the ushnisha is slightly curved, everything is visible on the pictures.
