A lot of time has passed since the film's debut in 1933: (King) Kong, the ferocious beast has been transformed into a good hero when feelings begin to resurface, and, having abandoned the jungle against its will, the city now seems to have become a habit, New York or any other. Giovannoni's Kong is, surprisingly, technological and almost human, it shines in front of it just as if the power had gone out. Its physicality is out of scale to be a toy, out of scale to be a lamp, but also out of scale to be a gorilla. Kong becomes a unique and extraordinary object left free to infinite settings and environments. Above all, it is no longer frightening thanks to the imaginative gaze of the designer who created it.
