[ translate ]

**Originally Listed At $700**

Ancient Egypt, New Kingdom Period, 18th to 20th Dynasty, ca. 1549 to 1076 BCE. A mold-formed faience offering cup of a petite size with a flat base, tapering walls that terminate in a thick rim, and a deep interior cavity, all adorned in brilliant cornflower-blue glaze. Applied black pigment creates a repeating band of frets along the top of the rim as well as three columns of painted hieroglyphic text. Though the text is faded and illegible in some areas, a space along the rightmost column indicates that a cartouche - the encircled name of a pharaoh - was present at one time. Size: 1.7" W x 2" H (4.3 cm x 5.1 cm).

Provenance: private Vero Beach, Florida, USA collection

All items legal to buy/sell under U.S. Statute covering cultural patrimony Code 2600, CHAPTER 14, and are guaranteed to be as described or your money back.

A Certificate of Authenticity will accompany all winning bids.

We ship worldwide to most countries and handle all shipping in-house for your convenience.

#143713
Condition Report: Minor abrasions and nicks to rim, body, and base, with fading to original glaze coloration and black hieroglyphic text, and encrustations across interior and exterior, otherwise intact and very good. Light earthen deposits throughout.
