Suffolk - A magnificent collection stored in 8 wooden boxes of in excess of 350 black and white negatives taken by Miss Ada Mannall in the early 1900s. Captions inside box lids include mentions of Glemham, Blaxhall,Rendlesham, Elmham, Aldeburgh, Butley, Lowestoft, Felixtowe, Yarmouth and other surrounding villages and towns. There are many fine photographs of farms and farming including ploughing, harvesting and haymaking with large horses and traction engines, a cavalry regiment watering their horses in the local pond, railway buildings, crossings and a gang of men working on the local railway line. Coastal resorts, beaches and harbour scenes are well represented too. Overall a superb historic photographic archive recording East Anglian people and places in Edwardian times. Included in this lot is a book entitled ''Blaxhall's Living Past'' in which several of these negatives have been used for illustration.
