An Algerian Barbary pirate nimcha swords - Algeria, late 18th early 19th century Horn grip and bronze guard. One of the 3 quillons of the guard is damaged. The guard has a slight movement. Italian blade manufactured by "G M Barisoni". According to the book "armes blanches symbolisme inscriptions marquages fourbisseurs manufactures" written by Jean Lhoste and Jean-Jacques Buigne, the Barisoni workshop was located in Milan and was well known for manufacturing light cavalry blades for the 1st French Napoleonic Empire army. Overall length 76,5cm Length of the blade 62cm Weight 690gr
