The saya is made of wood and has a few minor scratches. Otherwise in very good condition and of high quality. The varnish contains gold flecks, which is clearly visible in sunlight. The tsuba (6. 8 x 6. 4 cm) is made of iron, decorated with a figure of which the head and sword are made of gold, possibly forged from a remainder of the blade (to be used for the dating process?) Nakago signed with 5 characters (which I can't translate) and has 2 mekugi-ana (holes) The habaki is made of silver, as is the fill plate.
