A rare hexagonal five-case gold lacquer inro by Tamagawa, Japan, 19th century. Decorated with a peacock and peahen in a rocky landscape with prunus trees, using fine iro-e, hiramaki-e, and kirigane techniques.
Height: 11.3 cm.
Very good condition with light wear. Includes an ovoid ojime and wooden storage box (tomobako).
