A HILLSIDE VILLAGE AT SUNSET

signed TMORAN. and dated 1918. (lower left) and marked with the artist's thumbprint (lower right)
oil on canvas

Condition Report:
The canvas is strip-lined and there is frame abrasion at edges. There is scattered fine surface cracking, which is most apparent in the light pigments with thicker impasto, and there are stretcher bar marks visible at all four edges. The dark pigments in the mountains and water near left edge appear to be slightly skinned. Under UV: the work retains an uneven varnish. There is some minor inpainting to address frame abrasion and some pindots in the mountains at left. There is an area of older restoration in the sky at center that is visible to the naked eye.
