TIBETAN GILT BRONZE JEWELLED TARA
Ca.19th Century AD. A bronze figurine of Tara seated in a lotus position; depicted with downcast eyes and a gently smiling mout; the serene face is framed by a five-pointed crown, behind which is a gilt Buddhist jewel, and large floral earrings. Rapresented in the four-armed form, the first right hand in karana mudra and the left hand holding a lotus stem; the second pair of arms in the anjali mudra rapresenting a gesture of greetings, prayer and adoration. The body and headdress adorned with semi-precious stone or colored raisin. Good Condition; Size:155mmx100mm;600; Provenance: London Estate collection of Asian and Oriental Art.
