Comprising an carved composite wood example of a Budai, depicted as a traditional happy or laughing Buddha, seated and holding a strand of beads in his right hand, resting on a carved footed base; and an octagonal carved Buddhist traveling shrine with character marks and floral decoration to exterior, the two doors opening to reveal a triptych with figures of seated Buddha and various attendants. The prayer box measuring: height 6 1/2", length 7 3/4", diameter 3 3/8". The Buddha measuring: height 4 1/4" (height with base 5 1/4"), width 5", depth 4 1/4".
