Malay Archipelago, late 19th - early 20th century
Comprising a low compressed globular bowl with a straight circular rim, resting on three globular feet, the body chiselled and engraved with a continuous leafy vegetal scroll framed within two bands of geometric motifs, the base marked with a stylised lotus flower, 24cm diam; and another bowl with ribbed rim, the body divided in ten cartouches filled with vegetal tendrils surrounding a diamond-shaped decorative element in the centre, 23.2cm diam.
