Original Tabriz Persian Rug 60 raj Tabriz is one of the main centres of rug manufacturing in Iran. Geographically, it is located in the north western part of the country, at the foot of the Sahand mountains, at an altitude of 1,348 m, close to the border with Turkey and 150 km away from the border with Azerbaijan. The manufacturing of carpets in this town follows ancient traditions, and, in addition, thanks to the various influences it has received due to its geographical location, there is a great amount of variety in the way the carpets of Tabriz are decorated. The knotting is always very dense, shaven very short and with an extremely detailed pattern and compact pile. The most famous examples of these techniques are Persian carpets.
