Tabriz, Iran Measurements: 203 x 300 cm; Knot density: approx. 250,000 kn/m² With certificate of authenticity and 1 year warranty; Condition: as good as new, please see the photos. Professionally cleaned. Shipping: worldwide by UPS; Number: 7128; This carpet was exported from Iran before 1 January 2015. This rug was knotted in workshops in the city of Tabriz, in north-western Persia. It is a firm, durable rug with a short rough pile. Tabriz rugs can be distinguished by their excellent weave and by their remarkable adherence to the classic traditions of old Persian rug design. However, they cannot be distinguished by a specific pattern or by their colour. The city of Tabriz, located in the north-west of Iran/Persia, was the earliest capital of the Safavid dynasty, and can claim that it has been a centre of rug production longer than any other city in Iran. Therefore, it is not surprising that the rugs that are woven there can live up to the highest technical standards and maintain the most varied repertoire. Please take the time to study the rug in detail and enjoy this work of art.
