Tall Roman Glass Candlestick Unguent

Roman, early Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 2nd century CE. A gorgeous perfume-holding unguentarium of an elongated 'candlestick' form, free-blown from near-opaque, emerald-green glass with a slightly concave base and a rough pontil scar, a bell-shaped body with a corseted neck line, a tall cylindrical neck, and a wide rim with an in-folded lip that gently droops to one side. The verdant hue of the vessel is elegantly complemented by layers of fiery silver and rainbow iridescence. Size: 2" W x 6" H (5.1 cm x 15.2 cm).
