The guitar is virtually perfect, no scratches, like new, collector’s piece! Serial no. 20000104044: The initial (2000) indicates the year 2000, the numbers (01) after the first four digits, indicate the month, January, the numbers (04) indicate the day. the following (0) indicates the series ‘400’ and finally the numbers (44) indicates the forty-fourth guitar assembled in that day. Features: Warm and deep sound with the characteristic Taylor sustain. Perfect frets with no smears or relief. Shape: grand auditorium (type Martin 000) Board: Sitka spruce wood. Neck: mahogany Headstock: mahogany and Indian rosewood. Fretboard and bridge: ebony. Sides and back: Indian rosewood Mechanics: Grover. Since it is a 20 years old guitar, the spruce board is very seasoned (usually a good seasoning starts from 10 years) and being drier, i. e. almost totally free of resin, the sound is more crystalline and longer because it is helped by the greater vibrations of the soundboard.
