A fine ceramic square tea box or censer on four feet, standing 10,5cm tall and weighing 496g, delicately painted in Satsuma pastel enamels enhanced with gold paint, with vases, flowers and precious objects to all four sides. Marked to the underside with elaborate maker´s mark. 'Dai Nippon Satsuma yaki Zōkōzan' 大日本薩摩焼造光山, active from the late Edo to early Meiji period. Condition: Overall very good, tiny chip to one foot. Lid absent. Minor wear commensurate with age. This lot will be carefully packaged and sent by registered and insured mail.
