(Apart from the hallmarks, it is indistinguishable from the model of the teapot and creamer! Lion passant: assay office mark 1st grade content silver. Minerva head: stamp assay office F Sneek Assayer mark: WB1 Year letter C: 1902 All pieces are heavy and very professionally made from first grade content silver 934/1000 and are in very good condition with minor signs of wear. The teapot comes from 1862 and the creamer from 1861. Exactly 50 years later in 1912, the tea caddy was made in exactly the same style by Pieter Spoelstra from Sneek. BONEBAKKER EN ZOON Bonebakker and zoon, shopkeeper mark of this well-known family of silversmiths and jewellery stores and also jewellers company from 1792 tot present. As a purveyor to the court, Bonebakker forged swords for the Princes of Orange, designed tableware for the court and made the king's crown for William II in 1840. The famous collection of jewellery of Anna Paulowna counted creations by Bonebakker and nowadays, silver from Bonebakker is also part of the permanent collection of Amsterdam museums, including the Amsterdam museum and the Rijksmuseum. Work masters and suppliers of Bonebakker en Zoon. Bonebakker and Zoon collaborated with the best silversmiths and sold only top quality, made mainly of 1st content silver. Silversmiths with whom they collaborated included T. G. Bentvelt, Helweg and Pieter Pieterse. Pieter Pieterse: Anchor PP is the master stamp of Pieter Pieterse silversmith in Amsterdam active from 1846 to 1870. Pieter Pieterse was born in Amsterdam in 1821. He became a silversmith in 1846 and died in 1903. On January 31, Pieter Pieterse was registered as a master at the Assay Office. In 1855, after the death of silversmith Bentveld, he started working for the company A. Bonebakker & Zoon until 1870. On his silverware for the company Bonebakker, his master stamp was struck as well as the shopkeeper’s mark of A. Bonebakker & Zoon. The most beautiful pieces of silverware at that time came from his hand/hammer. From 1855 he was also in charge of the workshop of A. Bonebakker & Zoon on the Korte Leidsedwarsstraat.
