Thai Haripunjaya Pottery Vessel w/ TL, ex-Museum

Southeast Asia, Thailand, Haripunjaya (also Haripunchai), ca. 13th century CE. A fascinating pottery vessel presenting a shallow bowl and flared rim with a projecting tube at the center, all sitting upon a cylindrical leg and tiered foot. The interior of the bowl is incised with several rings, while the exterior, leg, and foot are all adorned with dozens of raised and incised horizontal bands, as well as undulating strips of clay that add a lovely texture to the piece. Size: 8.25" in diameter x 9" H (21 cm x 22.9 cm)

This piece has been tested using thermoluminescence (TL) analysis and has been found to be ancient and of the period stated. A full report will accompany purchase.

Provenance: ex-Ashland University Museum, Ashland, Ohio, USA, donated to Ashland University between July 1994 to December 1998

Condition Report: TL holes on base and under rim. Chips to periphery of base. Indentation to central tube. Expected nicks and abrasions, commensurate with age. Otherwise, excellent with light earthen deposits throughout.
