The Eruption at Lake Avernus

framed: 29 5/8 by 33 1/2 in.; 75.2 by 85 cm.
Condition Report:
The canvas is lined and stable on its stretcher. The overall images reads well under a clear varnish. A previous campaign of restoration is present and corresponds to the stretcher bars on the reverse. These areas are slightly discolored but do not distract to the composition as a whole. Under UV inspection, the varnish appears evenly applied and the previously mentioned restoration fluoresces. The painting can be hung in its current state. Offered in a carved giltwood frame.
