Symonds, Paternoster-Row; Egerton, Whitehall; and Goddard, Pall Mall, 1808, two volumes, three quarter leather over marbled boards, gilt ruled and decorated spine, with two folding maps, Sabin 103677, the account of Whitelocke's disastrous attempt to take Argentina for the Brits, he facedÿfour charges including poor diplomacy, military incompetence, and negotiation of a shameful surrender, and was found guilty, 8-1/2 x 5-1/4 in., Provenance: Collection from an Important American Family, Note: last auction record - June 25th, 2013, sold for $800.
