Three Early Horn and Brass Powder Flasks, Europe, 17th/18th century, a flask with line and geometric carved horn body, iron base, iron top with spout and remains of spring-loaded measure, and steel hook and loop, ht. 7 3/4 in.; a second horn flask with tapering sides with flat bronze base, flat bronze top with bronze spout and steel spring-loaded measure, each side with two iron suspension loops, ht. 5 1/2 in.; and third flask with molded wood and brass base, flat brass top with faceted brass and spring-loaded spout, two brass suspension loops on each side, ht. 7 1/2 in.

The flask with carved body has small losses at the base, a small chip near the top, a few small spots of insect damge, and missing spring on the measure; the measure with bronze fittings has several old repairs/infills to the horn body; the flask with the faceted spout has the beginnings of horn delamination to the body, scattered small insect holes, and dents in the brass.
