A ritual lidded horn-shaped container with old collector's label reading 'Rabrum = horn vessel containing mustard seeds which are scattered in the air during certain magic rites by the Lamas; believed to have come from Shigatshe'. 55 grams, 13.5cm (5 1/4"). From a Cambridgeshire collection; previously in the collection of Roger Moss; accompanied by a late 19th-early 20th century inked identification label. Shigatse is the site of the Tashilhunpo Monastery, traditionally the seat of the Panchen Lama. [No Reserve]
