The 26-inch domed shade is decorated with over 2,000 small copper-foiled glass tiles that are arranged in an elaborate design consisting of four vertical wide bands that form a cross when viewed from above. These bands feature myriad accents of red, green and blue glass. The background behind the cross consists of segmented horizontal strips with small diamonds and circles in green, yellow, orange and red that encircle the shade. The elaborate circular and diamond-shaped motifs are consistent with that of the "Byzantine" desk set pieces.
