The presentation box was given to William J. Porter (1914-1988) who headed the U.S. delegation to the Paris Peace Accords to end the Vietnam War, from 1971-1973. Porter served as U.S. Ambassador to Algeria, South Korea, Canada and Saudi Arabia.

Lot is comprised of a presentation box (after 1950) and set of twelve bread plates with wreath borders and initial 'K' (1923-47).
Marked to binding of presentation box '25190', inscribed to cover 'WEP Embassy of the United States of America', and to underside of cover 'To Eleanor and Bill in affection and gratitude for an unforgettable visit love Jake Liddah 1976'.
Marked to underside of each bread plate '20198A 13558'.
Sold with a fully marked owl-form salt and pepper shaker set by Tiffany & Co. (London, 1965).
