Tisserlitine 001 Lunar Meteorite Lunar (feldspathic breccia) Gao, Mali - (21° 19' 30"N, 0° 43' 44"E) Found: 2019 One enormous mass of lunar meteorite, this specimen of Tisserlitine 001 weighing almost 2,100 grams (4.6 pounds), is physically impressive. This gorgeous, highly textural, and multi-toned surface is awash in amazing brown hues. A sizable cut, polished window face on one edge reveals a 'peek' into the internal composition of the colossal Moon rock. This feldspathic breccia boasts a much different appearance in comparison to other similar varieties that are typically a stark black and white in tone. While there is an intriguing white clast on the smooth surface of the offering, it is the sole part of the representation of a superlative material that is not a pleasing shade of brown. Found in Mali in 2019, this museum-sized display cabinet example of feldspathic regolith breccia evidences partial hydrothermal alteration in the low shock stage and moderately weathered substance. Simply put, this is a sizable, special, and superior meteorite. Measurements: 7.68 x 5.12 x 2.56 inches (19.50 x 13.00 x 6.50 cm), weighs 2,096.8 grams HID09710052018 © 2022 Heritage Auctions | All Rights Reserved
