Original vintage travel poster advertising Alitalia flights to the USA featuring colourful artwork by Francioli depicting many symbols and activities of the American way of life, including skyscrapers, baseball players, a subway sign, a Cadillac car, a cheerleader girl, a highway interchange and a brass band musician with the letters USA cut-out over the image and a small plane flying below, above Alitalia in blue and white. Alitalia Linee Aeree Italiane (Alitalia Italian Air Lines) was previously the national flag carrier of Italy, founded in 1946; the company was declared bankrupt in 2008 and, in 2009, became part of Alitalia Compagnia Aerea Italiana / Societa Aerea Italiana, the current national flag carrier of Italy.
