Travel icon - Bronze, Enamel - First half 19th century

Precious original vintage Russian Orthodox cross in bronze and blue and white enamel.
In excellent conservative condition and quite rare in size.
Contains all the major symbols of the larger crosses, i. e. the vertical Trinity (Father, Holy Spirit in the form of a dove and the Son on the Cross)
The various inscriptions on the sides of the Cross, the instruments of the Passion the spear and the cane, the weeping Angels above, the skull of Adam at the feet of Jesus etc. . .
On the back an inscription on six lines in archaic Cyrillic.
Original for the period estimated in the first half of the 19th century and provenance, not a recent Polish reproduction. In good conservative conditions. The contrast of the cobalt blue and white fired enamels is beautiful.
