Colored frontispieces in each volume. Original half russet-colored ‘Persian Morocco’ leather over marbled paper-covered boards, spines gilt, marbled endpapers, top edges gilt.
Condition: contents excellent, vols. 2-30 numbered ‘234’, vol.I numbered ‘211’ and re-numbered ‘234’ in pencil; bindings with some fading, scuffing and rubbing (see images), but all are still sound.
The edition limited to 250 numbered sets, each set including the complete Barchester and Palliser novels, all in quite handsome bindings. Quite rare on the market: the last set sold for $1725 in 2006.
