Tsuba Sukashi, Kinai with Buddhist theme, with clouds and wheel of dharma/life. Typical of the Shinto tradition and Buddhist teachings. EDO era. Original Japanese. Made of finely inlaid and wrought iron. Beautiful opaque anthracite patina. This Tsuba comes from the collection of the American Gary Murtha, an expert in Japanese history, a great collector, and a writer of several books focusing on Tsuba wheels.
