Production: hand-knotted Country of origin: Turkmenistan Province: Yomut Dimensions: 250x340cm Pile: Wool Warp: Cotton Knots: 160 000 / m² internal number: Öz5947 Real hand-knotted unique! ✓ with certificate of authenticity! ✓ According to our internal expertise, the carpet is in good overall condition Turkmenistan is the country of the Uzbeks. Bukhara is the commercial port where these carpets are traded. In Bukhara itself there is no loom. These carpets are still made by families today. The base fabric consists of wool twisted with goat hair. A solid cork wool is used for the knotting material that forms the pile. Both materials are still spun by hand today. the red is colored with madder root. The Youmud Bukhara is highly valued as it is densely and very finely woven.
