Two bass relief sculptures/plaques by Shiva Virabhadra Southern India mid 19th century The 4-armed "feared" god of the Hindu, also known by the names: Veerabathira, Veerabathiran, Veerasethiran 1 considering the colour, is presumably made of bronze alloy, 18 cm h x 13. 5 cm b foot and 1 x presumably red copper, 24 cm h x 15 cm w India, 18/mid 19 century. Hinduism, Hindu, Shiva Probably from Maharshtra, west central India. Bronze and probably red copper Plaques of Virabhadra Hindu, the four armed fearsome Shiva in Hindu religion, Shiva Maharashtra India. On both plates, Shiva Virabhadra is depicted with a bow, an arrow, a sword and a shield. Next to Shiva Virabhadra is Daksha with his hands in the worshipping so-called anjalimudra hand position and whose head has been replaced by the head of a ram after Shiva cut off his head. Bhadrakali, his partner, is standing on the other side. The moon and the sun are depicted at the top of both sculptures. On the larger plate, Shiva's linga and mount, the bull, are also depicted.
