Two silver-gilt, cloisonné enamel and mother of pearl icons of St Joasaph and Bishop St Ermogen, maker in Cyrillic 'DG', Moscow, 1908-1917

The first depicting St Hermogenes Patriarch of Moscow as inscribed in Cyrillic above the saint's head, a silver-gilt background engraved with sunburst design mounted with multicoloured cloisonné enamel floral and foliate motifs, with a suspension loop on the upper edge and the reverse, struck to the lower edge with maker's mark in Cyrillic, 84 standard The second depicting Joasaph of Belgorod as inscribed in Cyrillic above the saint's head, a silver-gilt background engraved with sunburst design mounted with multicoloured cloisonné enamel floral and foliate motifs, bordered by a cloisonné enamel geometric pattern one pearl in each corner, struck to the lower edge with maker's mark in Cyrillic, 84 standard
3.8 by 11.5cm; 5 1/5 by 4 1/2 in.
17.9 by 14.6cm; 7 1/16 by 5 6/8 in. respectively.

Condition Report:
The enamel on both in good condition overall, some tarnishing to the silver-gilt edges of the oklad, a pearl missing in the top left corner of the larger icon, chips and flakes to the painting on both, the largest measuring 2cm in length.
