Two similar and unusual early 18th century oak high-back chairs, English, circa 1710-20

Each having a solid vase-shaped splat flanked by a moulded slat, an arched scroll-carved and pierced cresting, boarded seat with applied edge moulding and scroll-profiled front seat rail, on block and baluster-turned front legs, joined by a baluster-turned fore-rail and matching H-shaped stretcher, 46.5cm wide x 38cm deep x 113cm high, (18in wide x 14 1/2in deep x 44in high) (2)
