US COLT ARMY MODEL 1901 REVOLVER
SERIAL 167652. BARREL 6". CALIBER .38 COLT. This is an example of the US Army issued swing out cylinder series of 1889. This is a Model 1901 and made in that year. These revolvers saw wide spread use in the so called Banana Wars in the Phillipines and surrounding island. It is standard issue six shot, double action, blue finish with smooth walnut grips. The RAC stamp for Renaldo Carr is stamped on left side of frame. The butt is stamped US Army Model 1901. The left grip panel is stamped with the date (1901) and RAC stamp. Overall, this gun is in excellent, all original condition showing about 80% original blue that is mixing with soft brown patina and usual high edge holster wear. Grips are excellent . Lanyard ring is intact. Legends are sharp. Front sight has been reshaped. Bore is sharp with some frosting. Action is tight. The last frontier of affordable US Army firearms. C&R
