US EDDYSTONE MODEL 1917 BOLT ACTION RIFLE
SERIAL 1094845. BARREL 26". CALIBER 30-06. More Model 1917 rifles were used in the First World War than the more recognizable 1903 rifles. In fact, the famed Sgt. York used a Model 1917, not the 1903 made famous in the movie. This rifle is a standard post WW1 rebuild. The frame is stamped Eddystone while the barrel is a Winchester dated 1-19. The rear sight and safety are Eddystone. Bolt is not stamped. Walnut stock has rebuild cartouche and all parts except bolt have later parkerized finish. This rifle has seen little use since rebuild and retains a solid 90% of this finish. The rifling is sharp. Handsome WWI standard. C&R
