US MODEL 1812 CONVERTED FLINTLOCK MUSKET
Made by Springfield Armory with a 42" round barrel in .69 caliber. This gun was converted to percussion and the wood was shortened. The lock is dated 1815 with US and eagle. The hammer spur is broken and someone painted the assembly and reverse plate in dull silver. The original barrel is dark brown patina with clear US and eagle head VP stamp. The rear two original bands are present as is the brass trigger guard. A true restoration project or simply good for some rare parts. A
