The background features a garden with a bamboo bridge, and the upper part of the composition is filled with handwritten text.
The graphic is made with a delicate line and hand-colored, which demonstrates the high skill of the creators. It is probably a joint work of Katsukawa Shunshō and his student, Katsukawa Shunko – two outstanding representatives of the ukiyo-e school, specializing among others in portraits of women and kabuki actors.
