Martin Schnur won the Füger Prize of the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna for the best graphic work in 1988. Essential to his work is the integration and connection of different levels of image and reality, which stimulate the viewer's imagination in all its mysteriousness. The background of the painting is a black surface that demonstrates its materiality through the elements that sit on it. The canvas shines magnificently through the sealing varnish. This stylistic touch is also accompanied by a glitter that immensely stylises the artwork and gives it a radiant fulminance. Typical of comparable paintings by Martin Schnur, the artwork has a strange protagonist. Overall, the result is a complex composition that is surprisingly entirely coherent. The interplay of the elements creates an enigmatic atmosphere reminiscent of the cosmos. In any case, the work possesses a unique reflection by the witty artist of a fragmented reality that does not want to tell a story, but creates a substantial mood that can undoubtedly be inspiring. Slight dent in the canvas lower left. Does not disturb the overall impression.
