LOT NOTES
Vaclav Vytlacil was an important American modernist artist as well as an influential art teacher, at schools including the Art Students League in New York City, Black Mountain College in North Carloina, and the California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland. His students included Louise Bourgeois, Willem de Kooning, Robert Rauschenberg, amongst others. He left an indelible impression on American art of the 20th Century.
