Signed: Lucinda Lamb, Townsend VT. . has detailed lengthy verses and inscriptions in quite small lettering in black needlework sewn in various areas of . the sampler, along with elaborate pictorials of large impressive buildings, trees and other foliage. What stands out is the amount and variety of needlework done in this sampler, including verses and images architecture and landscape, all depicted in a rather small surface for the amount of descriptive work. Vermont samplers are infrequently found.. . There is a small break at the center, probably where sampler may have been folded before framing, . that is noticeable on close examination
