VERY FINE AND RARE PAIR OF GREEN AND RED PAINTED WINDSOR SACK-BACK ARMCHAIRS, NEW ENGLAND, CIRCA 1790

Height of tallest 40 ¾ in.

Condition Report:
Each contains remnants of an earlier painted surface. Each in overall fine and stable condition. Wear, discoloration, and losses to the painted surface are consistent with age and use. Top section of central spindle of the shorter of the two chairs appears to be a replacement, additionally this chair shows losses to the reel turning on the proper front right leg and the proper back left leg was previously cracked and reglued at the junction with the seat.
Height of other chair 38 in.
