VERY RARE LARGE OVAL "REGISTERED.LONDON/FROM/SWITZERLAND" DATESTAMP; 1 Oct. 1870 usage of the Swiss 30h Postal Stationery envelope (some faults inc. wax offsets from next letter in pile; stamp lost and with a photo of the relevant 60h hinged in its place) to Scarborough from "FRAUENFELD" (fine cds on front) via Zurich with a very fine large "REGISTERED.LONDON/FROM/SWITZERLAND" d.s. (known only from July 1869 to July 1871) on the front beside the Swiss boxed "CHARGE/G.....N[899]" mark. Only a handful of this London "SWITZERLAND" mark have been recorded, and one of those is a piece.
