VINTAGE FRENCH CAVALRY CUIRASSIER BREASTPLATE ARMOR

Steel Armor with brass rivets and woven wire leather strap guards, Imperial eagle in raised brass center front, engraved along lower lip of front by the Klingenthal Royal Armory, dated 1853, the back unmarked but having matching serial number stamped in, roughly 18" x 15" x 12". Light corrosion, scratches to interior.
This style was used through the Second Empire under Napoleon III and into WWI.
