Description

Shell and neck in Masur birch, cover in medium-density spruce, two-part bottom and rim in maple, transparent medium-brown lacquer. Labeled: made by Erik Jansson, Hafsta, Guldsmedhyttan, year 1953.
Body measurement approx. 364 mm, total length 606 mm. National fiddler Carl-Erik Hartman (1870-1972), Bångbro, had started a fiddler's guild called Bångbro-Guldsmedshytte Spelmansgille. In 1943, this guild changed its name to Bergslagernas Spelmansgille, with the aim of attracting fiddlers from other Bergslagers. The original members were, in addition to CE Hartman: Johan Gottfrid "Friden" Magnusson from Guldsmedshyttan, Evald Amundsson and Erik Jansson from Hafsta and Karl Gustav Karlsson ("Prästfalls-Kalle"), from Prästfall. In 1943, Gillet arranged a well-attended meeting on the second market day in Kopparberg and continued that tradition for seven years. After a few years of hiatus, the meetings resumed in 1964 and were converted in the 1990s into game meetings, which are still organized by the Bergslagernas Spelmansgille in October every year.Show more
