Vase (1) - Elephant ivory - Jar - Japan - Late 19th century (Meiji period)

Stylish vase of ivory with a wooden base. Decorated in bas-relief with a seated geisha at rest and on the other side with a geisha following a bat with a lantern In very good condition overall. The hair is embellished with small inserts of gilt bronze and coral With natural veining of the ivory. Signed on one side. Japanese artefact from the Meiji Era (approx. 1890-1910) . The item was produced prior to 1947, and is therefore in compliance with European Union regulations on ivory trade. The item comes with a certificate of authenticity that will be sent to the buyer.
